Several browser tabs opened after a COME download click

Multiple tabs can make it unclear which page owns the download. Inspect each relevant destination and the browser's transfer list before proceeding.

Keep the original context

Identify the tab containing the known entry and note which new tab appeared after the action. Read the actual hostname and page purpose. A new tab may contain information, advertising or a different service.

Do not follow every prompt

Avoid accepting software, notification or payment requests in unrelated tabs. Close irrelevant tabs deliberately after noting what happened, without deleting the original source or any needed error details.

Use the download list

A file transfer has its own browser record. Check whether the intended item exists and completed. The number of tabs is not evidence that a download succeeded, and repeated clicking can create more confusion.

A useful next step

Continue only from the known app route or the identified completed file.
